HERFIELD Playbook is a coaching app built for grassroots girls' football by Ross Steer, coach of Elsenham Girls U9. It gives volunteer coaches simple tools for sessions, matchdays and fair game time, with safeguarding built in from the start.
What it does for your club
Fair game time
Coaches plan rotations quarter by quarter and see every girl's minutes across the season, so nobody is quietly left on the bench.
Keeping girls playing
A quiet early warning when a girl's attendance or confidence starts to drift, so coaches can check in before she stops coming.
Less admin for volunteers
Attendance in seconds, fixtures, session plans and a match card for the touchline, on the phone coaches already carry.
Parents kept in the loop
Coaches publish a private update for each family and parents can say whether their daughter can make the next match.
For welfare officers: safe by design
First names only
No surnames, dates of birth, children's contact details, medical information or photos of children.
No messaging
There is no chat in the app. Adults cannot message children, and parents cannot message each other.
No accounts for children
Players never sign in. Only coaches and invited parents have accounts.
Parents see only their own child
Each parent sees their own daughter's update and nothing about any other player.
Coach notes stay private
A coach's private notes are visible only to that coach, never to co-coaches, parents or players.
Delete at any time
Coaches and parents can delete their account and their data from inside the app.

Each coach signs up
Free, in the browser or the iPhone app. A team is set up in a few minutes.

Coaches share a squad
A head coach can invite assistant coaches to the same team.

Optional. Each parent only ever sees their own daughter.
