Safeguarding
Statement

HERFIELD Playbook is coach-led, with an optional parent portal limited to a parent's own child. This page explains how the app is designed to protect children and uphold good safeguarding practice.

Built-in safeguards

  • There are no player accounts — children never log in.

  • Parents can be invited to a private portal that shows them only their own child. They never see other children or the coaching tools.

  • There is no direct messaging between adults and children.

  • There is no player-to-player messaging.

  • Players should be recorded by first name only.

  • Coaches should not enter children's contact details, addresses, full dates of birth, medical information or sensitive personal data. (A parent's own email and phone can be stored, only to send them updates.)

  • Parent updates are shared through the coach's own channels — WhatsApp, text or email — not through in-app messaging.

  • The Safe Checklist is a team readiness tool, not a medical record.

Important: HERFIELD Playbook is designed to support good coaching organisation and safe team preparation. It does not replace club safeguarding policies, league requirements or official FA/County FA guidance. Coaches remain responsible for following their club's safeguarding procedures at all times.

Data & privacy

HERFIELD Playbook does not collect child contact details, addresses, full dates of birth, medical information or any sensitive personal data about children. Player records are first-name only. All coaching data is private to the individual coach's account and is not shared publicly.
